Risk Description
AI systems scientific reasoning and molecular design capabilities may be exploited by malicious actors to accelerate biological and chemical weapon development. LLMs can provide pathogen modification strategies, chemical synthesis pathways, or detection evasion methods. While such information is partially available in public literature, AI dramatically lowers the barrier to integrating and applying such knowledge, enabling non-specialists to access dangerous capabilities previously requiring deep expertise.
